Our Culture

In 2012 Expressions of Hue started as the dream of Emmett Rodriguez a third-generation painter in Arlington, Tx working out of his home with one and no employees. In later years, the company has grown and is still growing. When you work for Expressions of Hue, Inc you are treated as the professional that you are. Positions

Job Summary:

The Carpenter will use woodworking skills to build and repair various structures and equipment throughout the assigned job site.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with employees concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the structure that needs to be built or repaired.
  • Estimates equipment, tool, and material requirements for each job.
  • Builds, dismantles, and repairs structures, walls, roofs, glass, and siding as assigned.
  • Operates all necessary tools to complete a job.
  • Prepares and dismantles scaffolding as needed.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
  • May perform painting as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to draw accurate sketches to communicate the specifications for projects.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Equivalent training and experience needed or completion of a formal apprenticeship program.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to reach all areas of the facility.
  • Must be able to work in and on overhead structures, as well as below machinery.

Job Summary:

The Carpenter’s Helper will assist carpenters and perform basic physical labor tasks on construction sites.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists carpenters by holding and securing lumber used in the build process; ensure lumber is level or plumb during installation.
  • Assists with building forms for pouring concrete.
  • Prepares work area by transporting needed tools and equipment from the storage facility.
  • Loads and unloads building materials to be used on construction projects.
  • Builds and disassembles scaffolding, bracing, and other temporary structures used on construction sites.
  • Removes debris and possible hazards to keep construction sites clean and safe.
  • Digs trenches and holes needed in construction projects.
  • Keep machines serviced.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors, foremen, and carpenters.
  • Knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic math.

Education and Experience:

  • No previous experience necessary.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • On-the-job training is offered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and working outside.
  • Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time.

Job Summary:

The Drywall Installer and Taper will secure drywall panels to the interior of residential, commercial, and other types of construction and will prepare the drywall for painting or finishing.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Measures and cuts drywall panels to fit in and around specific spaces such as doors, windows, electrical outlets, and lighting fixtures.
  • Installs drywall panels to wood or metal studs.
  • Uses drywall compound to fill in and cover joints, screws, nails, and other imperfections.
  • Sands joint compound once dry and applies drywall tape.
  • Creates textured surfaces when requested.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read simple building plans.
  • Ability to estimate the number of materials required for a project.
  • Ability to measure and cut drywall to fit in specific spaces.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and with a work crew.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for installing drywall.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous related experience preferred; on-the-job training offered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling.
  • Physically able to install drywall and secure it in place.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time to lift and move drywall panels.

Expressions of Hue is a locally owned and operated painting service with our branch located in the Grand Prairie, TX. We service the entire Dallas/ Fort Worth area and need a Lead Painter to hit the ground running with our growing business.

What we are looking for:

  • Must have aptitude to apply various types of paints, including paints, primers, stains, acrylics, lacquers, epoxies, and other approved coatings by hand or using spray equipment, to interior and exterior structures.
  • Complete repairs to the property being painted including but not limited to stucco, siding, decks, porches, drywall, baseboards, gutters, fences, and other types of small and medium repairs; performs sheet rock preparation for paint; repair or install sheet rock; work is always completed using the proper tools and materials.
  • Prepare interior and exterior surfaces, fixtures, and structures by sanding, filling holes, cracks, and joints with caulking or approved materials
  • Responsible for mixing, matching, completing touch-ups and applying paint to various surfaces like to walls, and buildings.
  • Perform clean-up of all projects after painting and appropriate drying time; ensures that all spills, over-spray and taped surfaces are cleaned with soap and water or paint remover per product instructions; all drop clothes, masking paper, tape and plastic coverings are disposed of or cleaned and properly stored away.

  • Airless paint sprayer, gas powered washer, electric saw (miter saw or similar), electric drill, electric sanders, ladders, scaffolding, paint rollers, paint brushes, extension poles, sanders, paint mixers, respirators and paint brush, roller, scraper, taping and bedding tools.

Job Summary:

The Painter will use paint application techniques and equipment to professionally finish interior and exterior surfaces.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Measures an area to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project.
  • Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.
  • Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.
  • Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects furniture, hardware, trim, and other nonpainted surfaces.
  • Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools.
  • Performs basic stencil and line work, which may include painting lines on factory floors, parking lots, and other surfaces.
  • May apply wallpaper, specialty finishes, and glazes.
  • Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.
  • Builds scaffolding according to safety regulations.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Prepares invoices and other paperwork detailing material and labor time and costs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
